Walnut Night Stands

When I got engaged, my fiancé and I agreed that I would build our bedroom set. I had just built a small walnut night stand that really wasn’t the right proportions for a nightstand and we both really liked the look of it. So we decided a bedroom set made of walnut. Writing this in hindsight, I should have chosen a more cost effective wood😂 The first portion I was to build for the bedroom set would be a matching set of night stands. This was the first project that I made entirely with all wood joinery. I used dowels to join the stretchers to the legs and installed a drawer in the front. The tops are made up of edge glued boards with breadboard ends. At the request of my fiancé, I added small shelves to the lower portion of the night stands. This was a great idea and I am so glad we added that to it. They are finished with my special blend of wipe on poly in satin.
